Cam Ranh Bay

Vietnam's Cam Ranh Bay, with its protective seaward peninsula and natural harbors, has long been considered one of the best and most beautiful deep water ports in the world. It has a long military history dating back as far as 1905 when it was used as a rest point by the Russian Fleet, under the command of Admiral Zinovy Rozhestvenski, during their world voyage leading to the Battle of Tsushima. It has also been used as a naval base by the French, Japanese, and U.S. at one point in time.
